Hello

Deanna PanDeanna Pan is a narrative journalist in Charleston, S.C., where she covers education at the intersections of poverty, race and inequality for the Post and Courier, the largest and oldest daily paper in the Palmetto State.

After graduating from Ohio State University in 2012, she cut her teeth as a fact-checker at Mother Jones and learned the craft of long-form journalism at the Pacific Northwest Inlander, an alt-weekly in Spokane, Wash. She’s written about Bigfoot believers and mass-shooting survivors, and exposed punitive conditions at state mental hospitals.
